Possibly a new treatment plan...

Well... the battle of cancer continues for my mom... however, there may be a new treatment plan that she will be looking into, at Long Beach Memorial, with Dr. Puthawala... It's called hyperthermia and the following two links will give you more of an insight on the treatment:

Like it should be...

Today, the chemo room was like it should be... talking, laughing, and food (potluck style). So... my mom had great support as she received her herceptin.

Back on the Herceptin Med.

Today, Dawn is taking my mom for a 8:45 treatment of herceptin (most know this as the "Living Proof" drug) (My mom's echo gram from last Monday showed that her heart is now strong enough for the med. again...) So it will be another day at the doctors...

More time with the Grandkids

Today, my mom and Dawn took Little Matt and Madison to their swimming lessons as Matt and Mireya went looking for homes to prepare for their move off the base...

Visited with the Cousins

Yesterday, my mom and Dawn went to Tetie Jen's to get out of the house for a little while and visit with my mom's cousins. They said it was sooo nice to catch-up... and finally sit in the front room for the first time... now that they are grown-up... :)

Many have asked...

How does my mom and dad watch two different programs in the same room...? Easy... Aunt Debbie stopped by today to visit and give my Dad a wireless head-set for his T.V. (Thank you, Aunt Debbie)

Dr. Appointments

Dawn called and made Dr. appointments for my mom this morning... My mom will be going down south, again, to see her Dr. on Thursday and then will be going to Long Beach Memorial for another appointment in regards to a possible hyprotherima treatment... (At least, my mom feels better today, for the first time in a week...)

Echo/Cardiology Test

Dawn took my mom to Kaweah Hospital, today, for a echo/cardiology test to see if my mom's heart is strong enough for the hep. meds. Then, they met-up with me and my mom's friend Susan for lunch... yum yum

Kids

Kids, kids, kids... all of my mom's kids along with their kids came and visited this weekend... what a FULL HOUSE (Christmas is going to be crazier than ever as we continue to grow...) (Oooh, boy!)

Dish Man

My mom waited all day for her "Dish Man" to show-up and connect her bed-side TV to a remote control of its' own... Now, my mom can FINALLY watch something other than car races, football, and news... She couldn't be happier...!

Dr.'s E-mail

Dawn got a response back to her e-mail to my mom's Dr... Her doctor believes that the meds. prescribed to her for her recent infection... should help her to feel better soon, hopefully. As for further treatment... Dawn will call Long Beach Memorial, today, to check-out the hyperthermia treatment...

Feeling Crappy...

In the last few days, my mom has been feeling pretty crappy... she has had a fever off and on with the chills and sweats... (YUCK!) So... she saw her general Dr. yesterday who confirmed that she had an infection. Dawn came home last night and e-mailed her Dr. down south this morning with the details... Hopefully, she will start to feel better soon!

Dr. Visit

My mom and Dawn traveled early this morning with Aunt Debbie to head down South for an other Dr. visit. I was told Aunt Debbie's driving was okay... but Dawn had to sit in the front, while my mom held on to her oh sh... cross...

Once in Long Beach, Dawn was dropped off at the Airport to visit a friend for a few days... Then my mom and Aunt Debbie headed to the doctor's office.

Watched with Millions Around the World...

Today, my mom rested on the couch as her and Dawn, along with the rest of the world, watched Micheal Jackson's memorial service. Our cousins, Soleil, Kassandra, and Chole were lucky enough to have gotten tickets to attend in person. WOW! We can't wait to see the golden program that was handed out...

My Birthday with Mom...

Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday with my mom... we went to Denny's for breakfast with Dad and the grandkids, then took my Dad's truck filled with the kids to "Wild Water Adventures" for the rest of the day, so my mom could get some rest...

A picture says...

"A picture says a thousand words..." My mom's doctor would like to continue seeing her every two weeks to compare my mom's condition from the previous picture taken of the cancerous site two weeks earlier. My mom wasn't too excited to know she would need do such travels... however, she enjoys spending time with family and friends when she goes down south.
